2 Years, 5 Weeks

This has been a busy week! Sylvan, Steve, Jenny and Scott went on a father-daughter trip to the zoo last week. Jenny bought Sylvan a special safari halter dress for the occasion. Tres chic. Over the long weekend we visited Annapolis and met up with some of my college friends for lunch there. I got some nice pictures of the kids eating ice cream on a bench. Chloe is about six months younger than Sylvan and Jacob is 3. My friend Jen also was in town, and we attended the Fourth of July parade on Monday. This was Sylvan’s first parade, and she was pretty overwhelmed. I was amazed that she sat through the whole parade without getting antsy or anything. Her favorite parts seemed to be the many fire trucks and horses, but the big highlight for Sylvan was meeting Elmo. You can see the pictures of that here. She spent a long time leaning out in the street after Elmo passed to see if he was coming back. Sylvan got the hang of waving to the firemen on the fire trucks about ¾ of the way through the parade. Next time she’ll be a pro.

Sylvan picked out her own outfit on Sunday – red Elmo shirt, blue flowered shorts and biker boots with white socks. I got some pictures of her outfit while she was singing the Itsy Bitsy Spider. She also sings Baa Baa Black Sheep, C is for Cookie and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

On July 4 Sylvan got a nice kitty face with red and blue stars for the holiday. She also drew a kitty face on Daddy. You can also see her trying on Daddy’s boots. I didn’t think it would be possible, but she managed to walk around in them until one started to twist around on her.
